Jennifer M. Miller

Civil Lawyer

Born and raised in Calgary, Jennifer brings not only a wealth of legal expertise to her practice, but also a deep, personal connection to the community she proudly serves. With a strong foundation in philosophy and a diverse global perspective, she is a committed advocate in the areas of family law, estate litigation, and civil litigation. Her approach is marked by tenacity, clarity, and an unwavering focus on practical, results-oriented solutions.

Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Calgary in 2012. Following graduation, she embraced the opportunity to live and work abroad, teaching English in Mexico and South Korea. During her time overseas, she also engaged in meaningful volunteer work across Central America—collaborating with humanitarian and environmental organizations in Belize, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. These formative experiences instilled in her a deep sense of compassion and justice, values that continue to guide her legal practice today.

Jennifer went on to pursue her legal education at the University of Sussex in England, where she graduated with an LLB in 2018. During law school, she distinguished herself through her involvement in national negotiation and mooting competitions, proudly representing the University in several national competitions. She also volunteered with a boutique constitutional law firm, conducting legal research that would later support groundbreaking cases before the Supreme Court of Canada and appellate courts across the country.

Since being called to the bar in 2021, Jennifer has built a robust litigation practice. She has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Ontario Divisional Court.
Jennifer is known for delivering clear, balanced, and strategic legal advice tailored to each client’s unique needs. Her practice includes family disputes, estate challenges, and civil matters such as contract disputes, landlord-tenant issues, real estate/property conflicts, and defamation.

Outside of her legal work, Jennifer is passionate about sailing. She currently serves as Vice-Commodore of the Glenmore Sailing Club in Calgary, where she combines her love for the outdoors with her commitment to community leadership.

Harpreet Aulakh

Civil lawyer

Harpreet is a civil and family lawyer who brings a calm, practical, and people-first approach to her work. She understands that when clients come to her, they’re often going through one of the most difficult transitions

in their lives — and she believes those moments deserve clarity, compassion, and dignity.

She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2024 after completing her law degree at the University of Alberta. Before that, she studied biological sciences and worked in banking and human resources — experiences

that give her a grounded, real-world perspective on the challenges her clients face.

Family has always been central to Harpreet’s life, and that perspective shapes how she practices. She advises on a range of family law matters including parenting, child and spousal support, property

division, and cohabitation or prenuptial agreements. Whether she’s helping someone sort through parenting arrangements or supporting them through property division or divorce, she focuses on resolving conflict in a way that’s respectful and sustainable.

Beyond her practice, Harpreet volunteers with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, providing summary legal advice and public legal education. She’s also a member of the CBA Women Lawyers Forum and is

always looking for ways to grow — both personally and professionally.

Outside of work, Harpreet enjoys testing her survival skills during monthly trips to Costco, trying out different group fitness classes, exploring Edmonton’s café scene, and spending time with her family — especially her dog, Anubis, who proudly holds the title of most important family member.
